The Hondo Area Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome you to “God’s Country”!
GoHondo is the best guide for visitors and residents of Hondo, TX to find up to date outings and events happening in the area. This is a community steeped in German & Alsatian History. Our area is rich in history and tradition. Centrally located in the great State of Texas and nestled at the backdoor of The Texas Hill Country, Hondo is a beautiful place to bring the family and enjoy a number of area activities. You can fly in to our South Texas Regional Airport with plenty of opportunity to dine or shop, stay and relax. Families are invited to come to visit our Historic Sites and play in our local South Texas Corn Maize.

Our years kick off with The Medina County Junior Livestock Show in late January. Annually on Armed Forces Day, we present a first-class Airshow at the Hondo Army Airfield. The last weekend in summer is reserved for the Medina County Fair, which is a 3 day event featuring a wide variety of activities for everyone to enjoy. The fall and winter months bring a large number of hunters to our area. So, we like to have a Wild Game Dinner to button up the season for them!

And, the holiday season starts early around here with Christmas in God’s Country Arts and Crafts Fair & Street Dance, along with our Holiday Night Parade, which is fun for everyone, young and old!
